Sending Gifts to Your Sponsored Child

While we know people love to purchase and send gifts to those they love, ERDO respectfully requests that sponsors send monetary gifts instead of gift packages of store-bought goods. The reasons we prefer that the child's CCP worker purchase a gift on your behalf in-country are: the staff know the children and can buy something that best meets their needs, high customs fees, possible theft and loss. ERDO can accept your cheque or credit card gift for the child and then securely transfer the funds to the child's CCP worker for the safe and efficient purchase of a gift.

When you mail a card to your sponsored child, light flat items such as a bookmark, postcard, a small strip of stickers, a little bracelet, pen/pencil or thin notepad could be included in an envelope no larger than 6" x 9".

If you send a gift box to the ERDO office, we regret that due to the costs of duty and risk of theft, we cannot forward it onto your sponsored child, and the contents will be donated to a local children's charity.

Please never send cash in the mail to ERDO or your sponsored child.
