Thank You for Your Christmas Gifts

Because of your generosity, this Christmas season was filled with real hope.

Together, supporters like you gave over $217,000 through ERDO’s Christmas Gift Catalogue. These gifts will be distributed and will provide families with nutrition, education, clean water, emergency relief and sustainable livelihoods — all through our trusted church and community partners around the world.

Thank you for choosing to give a gift that truly matters.

Here’s a glimpse of the difference your generosity is already making:

How Food for Children is Changing Lives!

Carisah is just two-and-a-half years old. Born with a double cleft lip, she struggled to have enough to eat and was severely malnourished, weighing only 4.5 kilograms when our partners met her. She wasn’t strong enough for surgery right away; instead, she needed food.

Nourish to Flourish was a gift in our catalogue that brought therapeutic nutrition to children with disabilities in Malawi. Through this project, Carisah received fortified peanut paste, nourishing porridge and milk powder. Slowly, she gained strength and weight. When she reached 6.7 kilograms, she was finally strong enough to undergo life-changing surgery to fix her cleft lip.

She continues receiving nutrition support and is on her way toward a healthy future — all thanks to gifts like yours!

School Supplies Do Make a Real Difference

When Blessings’ father died, she was sent away from her family home. Her mother turned to alcohol, and Blessings ended up living on the streets alone, malnourished and at risk of violence. It was on the street in Kenya that Pastor Answani met Blessings and learned her story. He invited her to enroll in Project of Hope, one of our ChildCARE Plus partners in Kenya.

School supplies were featured in our gift catalogue because children who don’t have them face a huge barrier to education. Although school is free in many countries, school supplies are not. Without supplies, including uniforms, children are not allowed to attend school.

Thankfully, Blessings was given a uniform, books and supplies, and was enrolled in school. She now has a safe place to study, regular food, new clothing, and access to medical care through the program. She attends school every day, has made friends and is healthier, happier and growing in confidence.

Project of Hope staff continue to pray for Blessings’ mother, who visits and is so proud of her daughter.

On behalf of families around the world, and our global church partners who serve them faithfully, thank you for giving through our Christmas Gift Catalogue. Your compassion and generosity gives hope throughout the year!
