The ChildCARE Plus Newsletter

Welcome to the ChildCARE Plus quarterly newsletter, a place where you can hear stories, updates and news from the ChildCARE Plus community around the world.

Here you will find inspiring stories of children and families whose lives are being impacted through sponsorship, updates from our partner communities and opportunities to learn more about the difference your support is making.

As Jesus reminds us, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40

Thank you for being part of the ChildCARE Plus family and for helping bring hope to children around the world.

What You Made Possible in 2025

As we reflect on 2025, we are so grateful for all that God has done through ChildCARE Plus and for your faithful support that made it possible.

This year, hundreds of children reached important milestones, with 340 boys and 353 girls graduating from primary school, and 153 boys and 203 girls completing secondary school.

Even more encouraging, 88% of students are continuing on to secondary education, opening doors to brighter futures.

Across our programs, 31,065 children heard the transformational message of the Gospel, and 97% of students met their in-country curriculum requirements.

Thank you for being part of this story — your generosity is making a lasting difference in the lives of children and their communities.

How Your Support Helps

Education
ChildCARE Plus helps children stay in school by providing support such as school supplies, tutoring and encouragement to continue their studies.

Nutrition
In many communities, students receive nutritious meals and snacks through the program, helping ensure they have the strength and focus they need to learn.

Care & Support
Children receive mentorship, encouragement and a safe environment where they are known and cared for.

Community Impact
ChildCARE Plus works alongside families and communities to create long-term change, helping children grow in confidence, develop life skills and build a hopeful future.

Sponsorship touches a child’s life in multiple ways, giving them the opportunity to learn, thrive and build a better future.

Child Stories

Meet Blessings

When Blessings’ father died, she was sent away from her family home. Her mother turned to alcohol and Blessings ended up living on the streets alone, malnourished and at risk of violence.

It was on the street in Kenya that Pastor Answani met Blessings and learned her story. He invited her to become part of Project of Hope, one of our ChildCARE Plus partners in Kenya.

Blessings was given a uniform, books and supplies, and was enrolled in school. She now has a safe place to study, regular food, new clothing and access to medical care through the program. She attends school every day, has made friends and is healthier, happier and growing in confidence.

Project of Hope staff continue to pray for Blessings’ mother, who visits occasionally and is very proud of her daughter. ChildCARE Plus literally picked Blessings off the streets and set her on a different path. A girl who had no one to care for her or look after her, now has a community that loves and accepts her.

Child Stories

Meet José

José lives with his mother and sisters in Honduras, in a small wooden home with a concrete floor. The family has electricity, but no running water. Their house is filled with love — but it’s in need of many repairs.

Several years ago, José’s father abandoned the family with no word. His mother sells tortillas out of the home and his older siblings work to help support the family.

Before joining ChildCARE Plus, José didn’t know if he would graduate high school. He dreamed of continuing his studies but felt the weight of providing for his family. The program gave José school supplies, uniforms, shoes and transportation to and from school.

In December 2025, José reached his dream of graduating and even completed a three-month work placement to get extra experience. He plans to attend university and has one, very simple dream — to find a good job and support his mother, who has sacrificed so much for him.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, your sponsored child is looking forward to hearing from you! In your welcome pack you will find information to help you write to your sponsored child. Please keep in mind that most letters and notes need to be translated into the child’s local language so please limit their length for our program staff. You can send a letter electronically through our ChildCARE Plus Sponsor Portal or mail your letter into our office at:

ChildCARE Plus
2450 Milltower Court
Mississauga, ON  L5N 5Z6

Your sponsored child would love to hear from you! Your letter doesn’t have to be long or complicated to make a difference.

Here are a few simple ideas:

  • Share a little about your life — your family, hobbies or something you enjoy doing.
  • Ask a few questions about school, friends or their favourite activities.
  • Offer encouragement and let them know you are thinking of them.
  • Some sponsors also include a short prayer or blessing.

For many children in the ChildCARE Plus sponsorship program, letters from their sponsors become something they treasure. They are often read many times and kept for years.

A few thoughtful words can remind a child that someone far away cares about them and believes in their future!

You can always send a monetary gift to your sponsored child through ERDO. Our global workers will purchase a gift in country that will benefit your sponsored child and their family, while stimulating the local economy.

ERDO can accept your cheque, credit card or pre-authorized bank withdrawal gift for your sponsored child and then securely transfer the funds to the child’s CCP worker for the safe and efficient purchase of a gift. Please contact our office at 1-800-779-7262 to send your child a gift via credit card. Alternatively, if you wish to use the same form of payment as your sponsorship, you may also e-mail ccp@erdo.ca to arrange your gift.

Sponsors can access the ChildCARE Plus portal through the ERDO website. The portal allows you to view information about your sponsored child, send letters, review your giving history, and update your contact information.

If you have already created an account, simply log in using your email address and password. If you are accessing the portal for the first time, please create a new login using the email associated with your sponsorship when you first registered.

If you experience any difficulties accessing your account, please contact our team at info@erdo.ca or call 1‑800‑779‑7262 and we will be happy to assist you.

We live in an age where technology and social media have made communication readily accessible and instantaneous, for both sponsors and sponsored children. However, it is important that all child and sponsor communication comes through the CCP Canadian Office.

ERDO discourages children or sponsors from communicating through Facebook, email, Twitter, by phone, etc. We are committed to facilitating enjoyable and efficient communication, with a priority on the mutual protection and safety of sponsors and children, which cannot be guaranteed over social media.

If sponsors are contacted directly by their sponsored child through a social networking site or email, please contact the CCP Canadian Office and let us know. From there, we’ll be in touch with our local representatives, and ensure the child and the sponsor is better protected in the future.

Please note, as well, that all communications between sponsors and CCP Field Representatives, as it pertains to the sponsorship program, must go through our Canadian office. This ensures information is consistent, centralized and protects both our sponsors and our Field Representatives.

When students complete secondary school, they graduate from the ChildCARE Plus program. The education and stability they’ve worked hard to achieve often strengthen their opportunities for the future, including improved employment prospects. Some students also choose to continue their studies at the post‑secondary level.

Children may leave the program earlier if their family relocates, if their circumstances change, or if they decide not to continue participating.

To ensure your monthly sponsorship continues smoothly, our team will notify you when your sponsored child finishes the program and will provide a profile and photo of another child who is waiting for support. If you would prefer not to transition to a new sponsorship or would like to direct your support to another ERDO project, please contact us at ccp@erdo.ca.

A Sponsor’s Story

When A Letter Becomes A Life

Jen Rocheleau had the opportunity to travel to Honduras and meet the child she sponsors through ChildCARE Plus. Seeing the community and the program firsthand was a powerful experience, allowing her to witness the real impact of sponsorship in a child’s life.

During her visit, Jen saw how the program supports children through education, care and encouragement, helping them grow and pursue their dreams. Meeting her sponsored child in person made the connection even more meaningful and reminded her how sponsorship can bring hope and opportunity to families and communities.
