Urgent Need
Thousands Flee Their Homes
Communities across British Columbia are facing a serious wildfire emergency as fires continue to threaten homes across the province.
Thousands of people have been forced to evacuate, with communities in the Okanagan among those most significantly affected. Homes and structures have been damaged or destroyed, roads have been severely impacted limiting travel, and many families are facing uncertainty about when they will be able to return home.
Firefighters and emergency crews continue working to protect communities while changing weather conditions and dry landscapes make the situation increasingly difficult.
But, there is hope!
The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada’s (PAOC) British Columbia and Yukon District is responding through local churches, which are reaching their communities with practical help in this time of need. As the response continues to develop, we will let you know more about how churches are supporting families and how you can help!
