Rebuilding After Pakistan Floods
A Crisis
Monsoon rains caused devastation in Pakistan from June to the end of August 2022, leaving millions of families devastated and their homes destroyed. ERDO, alongside a local organization responded immediately to bring emergency food, clean water and shelter to families in desperate need.
We brought emergency food baskets to families in need over the first several months, which contain items like: flour, rice, cooking oil, dry milk and drinking water. We also worked to shelter and supply families, which included items like: tents, mosquito nets and hygiene kits.
In the first months, we provided for families immediate needs. Now, we’re working with communities to build a more resilient Pakistan for future flooding disasters.
Let’s Rebuild Together
The Sindh and Balochistan provinces of Pakistan are still recovering after the devestating floods of 2022. Many families are still displaced and living in non-permanent shelters until it’s safe to go home. Their lives are still hold.
Working with a local partner in Pakistan, we will be providing 25 disaster-resistant buildings that will house 2,670 people. These families will be trained about early warning systems, how to evacuate their homes safely, and where to assemble in times of emergency.
Local masons will also be trained on building and maintaining disaster-resilient houses and learning how to teach families to maintain their homes before and after a flood.
Help us rebuild these vulnerable communities today to make a stronger Pakistan for tomorrow!
