ERDO’s Kids’ Curriculum

This four-week children’s resource is designed to help kids not only understand poverty, but to encounter God’s heart for people and discover how the Holy Spirit can work through them to make a difference.

At its core, this curriculum carries a simple but powerful truth: when we love others, we are demonstrating our love for God. Each week invites children into scripture, helping them see that compassion, generosity and faith in action are part of what it means to follow Christ.

This teaching includes interactive questions and real-life stories to help children connect emotionally and spiritually. These moments are key for building empathy and awareness of other in need. Give space for children to respond, share and reflect. You may be surprised by how clearly God speaks to each child.

You’ll also notice that each week has a couple different activity options you can choose to incorporate into your lesson. We encourage you to do what feels right for your classroom, your students and the environment you’ve created.

What’s Included?

Teacher’s Guide: Includes 4 weeks of curriculum with options for activities that can be incorporated into your lesson, depending on the size of your group and age of your students. Each teaching includes a list of materials supplied (in the Activity Handouts document) and other materials needed, which must be supplied by your church.

Weekly Slides/Flipbook: Each week will have corresponding Slides/Flipbooks that children can look at the follow the lesson. Depending on your church size, age group and the technical equipment available, you can show these on a screen as slides or print flipbooks for each student to follow and take home. You’ll see the page numbers for these Slides/Flipbooks noted in your Teacher’s Guide.

Activity Handouts: Several of the lessons have additional Activity Handout material provided. You’ll see which lesson each page belongs to in the bottom left-hand corner. You’ll find directions on how to use these Activity Handouts within the lesson in your Teacher’s Guide.
