Chanchak-Riya is a sweet young girl who lives with her parents and two brothers in a very poor community in Cambodia. Her father works hard in a local factory while his mother takes care of the home and the children. Despite their best efforts, they are unable to adequately provide for their daily needs. Life for this family is an ongoing struggle.
Chanchak-Riya is a very gentle child who loves playing with her friends. She is also a very helpful child who is always willing to do her chores. Her favourite subjects in school are math and Khmer language studies, and her favourite colour is blue. When she grows up, she plans on becoming a doctor.
