Jean-Marie is a young boy who lives with his parents and siblings in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In this area, life is very difficult as ninety percent of the population is unemployed. His parents do their best to provide for the children, but unfortunately, it is not enough to adequately meet their daily needs. Jean-Marie is a kind and respectful boy who enjoys playing with his friends and siblings. At home, he is a great help to his parents as he goes to fetch water. At school, his favourite subject is French. When Jean-Marie grows up, he would like to work as a doctor.

Jean-Marie est un beau petit garçon qui vit avec sa mère, son père, et ses cinq frères et sa sœur dans une communauté très pauvre en RDC. Dans cette communauté la vie est très difficile, parce que 90% de la population sont au chômage. Ses parents ne peuvent pas subvenir aux besoins essentiels de la famille. Jean-Marie est un enfant aimable qui aime jouer dehors avec ses amis. Il participe activement à l'école et aime beaucoup son cours de français. A la maison, il aide ses parents en allant puiser de l'eau. Jean-Marie aime aussi étudier la bible et lorsqu'il sera plus grand, il aimerait devenir médecin.
