Kishan is a friendly young boy who lives with his parents in Kolkata, India. Kishan and his family live in a small rented home with no running water. Kishan’s mother takes care of the home and his father works hard as an electrician. Sadly, he is unable to earn enough money to meet the basic needs of the family. Life is an ongoing struggle for Kishan and his family.
For many impoverished families like Kishan’s, education is not prioritized and children are often expected to help earn money. Through ChildCARE Plus sponsorship, however, Kishan will be able to continue his schooling and receive a quality education. Kishan enjoys learning Hindi. He likes puzzles and playing football with his friends. Kishan’s favourite Bible story is of Jonah and the fish, and his favourite colour is yellow.
