Suraj is a intelligent young boy who lives with his parents and two brothers in Kolkata, India. Suraj and his family live in a small rented home with no running water. Suraj’s mother takes care of the home and his father works hard as a labourer. Sadly, he is unable to earn enough money to meet the basic needs of the family. Life is an ongoing struggle for Suraj and his family.
For many impoverished families like Suraj’s, education is not prioritized and children are often expected to help earn money. Through ChildCARE Plus sponsorship, however, Suraj will be able to continue his schooling and receive a quality education. Suraj enjoys learning Englihs. He loves dancing and colouring. Suraj’s favourite Bible story about Zaccheus, and his favourite colour is green.
